It is not every day that you get to see two PCs with unique form factors being announced in a very short span of time. Even though what HP has come out might not be as far out as Lenovo’s foldable PC, the HP Omen X 2S still command some attention due to its dual-screen proposition.
Specifically, the Omen X 2S is equipped with a 5.98-inch Full HD IPS touch screen as its secondary display. Through this display, gamers apparently are able to access Twitch, Spotify, and Discord without any disturbance to their gaming session.
They can also access the Omen Command Center which allows them to switch system performance profile, monitor system vitals, and customize the laptop’s RGB lighting. Consumers can also choose to mirror and magnify part of the main screen.
Speaking about the main screen, the Omen X 2S is equipped with a 15.6-inch display and customers can choose to have with either Full HD IPS 144Hz or 4K IPS 60Hz panel. There is also a 240Hz option coming later in the year but HP didn’t specify the type of panel that features this particular refresh rate.
In terms of firepower, the laptop can be obtained with up to 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9880H processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics. With enough space to fit up to two 1TB PCIe NVME M.2 solid state drive in RAID 0 configuration, the Omen X 2s also supports up to 64GB dual-channel DDR4-3200 RAM.
Scheduled for general release from June onwards, the Omen X 2S will have a starting price of USD 2,099.99 (~RM 8,763). We’ll keep you updated once we hear more information regarding its release status in Malaysia from HP.
