It looks like gaming brand Razer will actually be making a toaster. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan has posted on his Facebook page saying that he’s “going to put together my team of designer and engineers” to make the Razer Toaster, and that it will take a few years.
The post also reads like a challenge was previously issued. Specifically, to another Facebook page called “Give us the Razer Toaster” to reach a million likes. An alternative to the likes count is to have people get tattoos of the Razer Toaster, with each toaster tattoo contributing 100000 likes. In total, the page accrued 44000 likes, and 12 tattoos.
The Facebook journey to getting Razer to make the toaster has apparently been a five-year struggle. Razer itself also teased the Toaster as part of its 2016 April Fools’ joke, called Project Breadwinner.
All that said, it’s unclear when you’ll actually be able to buy the Razer Toaster, assuming Razer doesn’t suddenly get cold feet and back out of its promise. But if it does, then you can probably think of the ways you want its Chroma lighting to work in the meantime.
