HBO Asia today has announced that its streaming service, HBO Go will be making its debut in Malaysia this May. For those who are not familiar with the service, HBO Go is accessible by customers that have HBO as part of their pay-TV subscription.
Not to be confused with HBO Now which is the company’s standalone service and not yet available in Malaysia, HBO Go is currently only accessible via Astro Go platform. With today’s announcement, this means that subscribers will be able to enjoy their HBO contents through HBO Go dedicated mobile apps and official website.
Through HBO Go, subscribers will have access to live TV streaming in addition to the ability to download contents for them to enjoy offline. In addition to that, there are also other features including video continuity between devices, customizable watchlist, and parental control.
Not only that, HBO Go also supports Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast functionalities. While HBO Asia didn’t reveal the exact rollout date of HBO Go in Malaysia, all you need to have in order to access it for free is an active subscription to Astro Movies Pack.
