Today marked a new chapter for the telecommunication segment in our country as the 5G Malaysia Showcase has officially opened its doors in Putrajaya earlier today. The event which will be opened to the public this weekend generally represents the government commitment to the next generation telecommunication technology.
Taking place at Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya, the showcase is hosted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). As you might have heard from our previous reports regarding the event, 12 organizations from the local telecommunication industry have set up their booth at the showcase.
While we might have discussed the throughput speed of 5G networks that belonged to some of the telcos that are present at the showcase, it is not exactly the main focus of the event. Instead, the 5G Malaysia Showcase is more about 5G-fueled technologies (both present and future) and the potential benefits that they might be able to bring to the masses.
These demonstrations are generally grouped into eight different categories including Healthcare, Media and Entertainment, Education, Smart Cities, Agriculture, Automotive, Public Safety, and Manufacturing. Supplementing the 5G Malaysia Showcase is the Digital Outlook Series talks and MCMC myMaker Fair showcase.
Opens from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, members of the public are more than welcome to experience 5G and potential future technologies powered by it at Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya on 20 and 21 April. Further information is available at the official website for the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan.
