[Update 10.50 pm] We can independently verify that all TIME Internet services has been fully restored and is back to full capacity.
[Update 10.30 pm] We have received an official reply from TIME, which we have reproduced in full below.
Around 8:30 pm, we detected a hardware failure in one of our core switches that affected several locations served by the node. We immediately switched over to a backup and started service restoration in stages around 9:00 pm. Those affected can try restarting their devices to resume their Internet connection.
Our primary TIME connection at the Lowyat HQ still remains down at this point in time.
[Update 9.59 pm] We can independently verify that TIME’s Fibre Internet service is slowly recovering to TIME subscribers across the country. While most users are able to get online, their network speed seems to have been capped to speeds below 50Mbps.
We have yet to receive an official response from TIME, and neither were we able to find any statements on their official social media channels with regards to the outage. We did, however, find a number of customers who did manage to get through to the Customer Service Hotline and were given the following explanation in relation to the outage.
Hi there. Please accept our apology as we’re currently experiencing a network disruption at your area. Also please be advised that our customer service hotline may not be reachable at the meantime due to the high volume of calls regarding the issue. Rest assured that our field engineers are already working on it to resolve the problem and the connection would be resumed shortly. We advise that your devices (router/modem) is switched on at all time. We’re deeply sorry for the inconveniences caused. Thank you.
