Acer is known to come out with plenty of outrageous features and products, especially through its Predator gaming lineup. Things are no different at today’s next@acer 2019 press conference as the company unveiled the latest addition to its Predator family, the Helios 700 gaming laptop.
For starters, the Helios 700 is equipped with a sliding keyboard called HyperDrift. While the implementation is certainly out of ordinary, the reason behind the keyboard is simple: to allow more air to flow into the laptop’s thermal solution through two additional intakes. It is also said to offer improved ergonomics as users can bring the keyboard closer to them.
Speaking about its thermal capabilities, the Helios 700 is equipped with two of Acer’s own 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans alongside five copper heat pipes and vapour chamber together with Acer CoolBoost Technology. The heat pipes we mentioned above can be seen through the glass panel that would be visible when users slide down the laptop’s keyboard.
The WASD buttons on Helios 700’s HyperDrift keyboard are slightly different from other keys as they are called MagForce and equipped with precise analogue-like linear switches. Just like the Helios 500 that was released in Malaysia recently, the gaming laptop also comes with a dedicated Turbo button that allows gamers to activate Helios 700’s overclocking feature immediately.
In terms of other components, the Helios 700 also comes with 17.3-inch Full HD 144Hz IPS display with NVIDIA G-Sync support alongside up to 9th Gen Intel Core i9 processor and full performance NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics. The 4.5kg laptop also enough space to fit up to 64GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB NVMe solid state drive, and 2TB hard drive.
Even then, the Helios 700 still have some room for five speakers and a subwoofer. The new flagship Predator gaming laptop will be released into selected markets starting from June onwards with a price tag of USD 2699.99 (~RM 11,146).
