Their existence has been known for quite some time, thanks to their appearance within the iOS 12.2 update. Now, Beats’ Powerbeats Pro wireless earphones are finally ready to meet the world.
Design-wise, the Powerbeats Pro generally look almost similar to the 2016 Powerbeats3 Wireless due to the ear hooks that appeared on both products. However, the Powerbeats Pro are fully untethered to each other and also feature a slightly angled design.
Equipped with Apple’s own H1 chip which was also present on the 2nd gen Apple AirPods, this means that the Powerbeats Pro are also able to support Hey Siri always-on voice feature alongside faster and more stable wireless connection. Each of these Class 1 Bluetooth earphones also comes with their own dedicated volume control and Auto Play sensors.
In terms of battery life, Powerbeats Pro are able to last up to 9 hours or more than 24 hours when you count their charging case. There is also the Fast Fuel feature which provides these earphones with up to 1.5 hours of playback with just 5 minutes of charging.
The PowerBeats Pro will be generally released into the market starting from May with a price tag of USD 249.95 (~RM 1020) which made them costlier than the 2nd gen Apple AirPods. Interestingly though, Apple Malaysia’s website has listed the new wireless earphones at a slightly lower price of RM 999 although exact release date remains unknown for the time being.
