Google’s Call Screen feature was introduced back in 2018’s Google I/O event. The feature uses Google Assistant to answer calls, and remained an exclusive feature for Google Pixel devices. Now, it seems the feature might be made available for Android One phones soon.
Recently, a Reddit user found two new flags were added to Google’s Phone app as part of the latest beta update. It pretty obvious to any reader just by looking at the names. The two flags come attached with Moto and Nokia names.
The existence of the flag should indicate that the feature might be expanding to other devices. However, both flags were disabled, indicating it hasn’t launched yet.
Before some of you get too excited, it’s worth pointing out that the Google Phone app only works on certain Google-approved devices. As such, we can assume that Call Screen may only expand to Android One devices which both Motorola and Nokia have in their respective lineups. For the time being.
