Snake is an iconic game that many people have spent time playing on their Nokia devices back in the good old days. In celebration of April Fool’s Day, the cheeky people at Google has now converted the game directly into Google Maps.
What made the implementation rather interesting is the fact that the Google Maps version of Snake takes place in selected major cities across the globe. Furthermore, the character you play in the game is actually the public transport vehicle that would change according to the starting city that you choose.
For example, you would become a double-decker bus in London while your character would then change to a bullet train if you choose Tokyo as the starting city for the game. All the maps are being presented in 8-bit design which is quite a homage to the original Snake game.
There are six different cities that you can choose including London, Tokyo, Sydney, San Francisco, Cairo, and São Paulo. According to Google, the game will be available through the menu in Google Maps’ Android and iOS app for “about a week”. After that, the game can be played through its dedicated website right here.
