About a month ago, Maxis rolled out support for eSIMs for the three latest iPhones – the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. Today, it’s Celcom’s turn, and the telco now has a dedicated page detailing eligible plans and compatible devices for the eSIM.
Like Maxis, Celcom’s eSIM implementation is only supported by the three iPhone models that we mentioned earlier. That said, the eSIM’s FAQ section says that the telco might add new devices into the list which suggests that the telco plans to extend eSIM support to other devices that can make use of the tech.
As for eligible plans, Celcom has made seven of them support eSIMs. They are:
- XPAX™ Postpaid 50
- Celcom Mobile Gold
- Celcom Mobile Gold Plus
- Celcom Mobile Gold Supreme
- Celcom Mobile Platinum
- Celcom Mobile Platinum Plus
- Celcom Mobile Family™
Signing up for an eSIM can be done at any Celcom bluecube store. It’s free of charge for new customers, as well as existing customers of over a year. For those who have been Celcom subscribers for less than a year, there is a charge of RM5.
