Apple has released the watchOS 5.2 update that enables electrocardiogram (ECG) for the Apple Watch Series 4 outside of US. The ECG feature made its way on to Apple’s current generation Watch Series 4 last December after it was introduced last September.
With the watchOS 5.2 update, Apple Watch Series 4 owners can now enable the ECG feature through the Health app on their iPhones. Capturing an ECG is simple; users just need to open the ECG app and rest their index finger on the digital crown. After an ECG reading is captured, the record and heart rhythm is stored in the Health app on your iPhone.
The watchOS 5.2 update also adds support for the AirPods 2, allowing them to be connected to the Apple Watch with real-time text (RTT) for phone calls. There are also two new Hermès watch faces to go along with the Hermès band collection.
The watchOS 5.2 update is now available to download via the Apple Watch app on any supported iPhone. On the subject of ECG, Apple’s release note included a list of countries that will have the feature. Unfortunately, Malaysia is not included within the list.
