Just a day after the unveiling of the new iPad Air and iPad mini, Apple today has made another surprise announcement by revealing the newly updated iMac. Consumers are now able to obtain the iMac with up to 27-inch 5K Retina display alongside up to 9th Gen Intel Core processor and AMD Radeon Vega 48 graphics options.
Interestingly, customers in Malaysia already able to order the new iMac via Apple Malaysia’s official website. So, what kind of hardware and price options do they have?
For starters, the baseline model for 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display starts at RM 5599. For that price, it comes with 8th Gen Intel Core i3 quad-core processor, AMD Radeon Pro 555X graphics with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB DDR4-2666 RAM, and 1TB SATA 5400rpm hard drive.
As a comparison, the price would shoot up to RM 14589 when customers choose to have it with 8th Gen Intel Core i7 six-core processor, AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 with 4GB HBM2 VRAM, 32GB DDR4-2666 RAM, and 1TB solid state drive.
When it comes to the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display, the baseline model carries a price tag of RM 7699. This particular setup features 8th Gen Intel Core i5 six-core processor, AMD Radeon Pro 570X with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB DDR4-2666 RAM, and 1TB Fusion Drive.
Customers that need more can opt for the RM 22779 configuration which would give them 9th Gen Intel Core i9 eight-core processor, AMD Radeon Pro Vega 48 with 8GB HBM2 VRAM, 64GB DDR4-2666 RAM, and 2TB solid state drive. All of these configurations we mentioned above include Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard as standard.
While customers are able to order them immediately through Apple Malaysia’s website, these new iMacs will only be shipped to users towards the end of April or early May at the time this article was published. For more information, just head on to the website right here.
