Three days ago, a video tutorial for Battlefield V’s (BFV) purported Firestorm map was leaked online. Several hours ago, the game’s publisher, EA, posted the reveal trailer for the game’s new battle royale mode on its official YouTube channel.
the Firestorm map doesn’t just present the new game mode in all the pomp and grandeur of the Battlefield franchise. It also gives us a glimpse into the gameplay mechanics.
Within the first minute of the trailer, it’s clear that players will be able to choose and parachute into the map via plane. Teams are set to four players per group, and like all battle royale titles, they will have to scour nearby buildings and areas for weapons to arm themselves.

As reported earlier, Firestorm looks to be a little different from other battle royale titles. Offering players a variety of objectives and special areas to visit throughout the map. Capturing and visiting these objectives will give players various perks that range from reinforcements, rare loot, or access to tanks.
Also, like the majority of popular battle royale titles, the operating area within the map will shrink over time. The effects of which are depicted as a ring of fire. Whether intention or a coincidence, the effects also look to seem to be a play on the phrase “trial by fire”.
BFV’s Firestorm map will be available from 25 March 2019 onward. The map is a free update, and will not require players to make any additional purchase to experience the new mode.
