Facebook, Inc’s family of social apps seem to be the latest to be hit by widespread global outages, after Google’s Suite of productivity services were plagued by issues early yesterday.
Facebook themselves, have, via a tweet, confirmed the issues, and have ruled out a DDOS attack on their services.
We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.

Users across the globe have also been flooding Twitter feeds with similar issues on two other Facebook-owned services, Instagram and Whatsapp. While neither service was experiencing a full-blown outage like Facebook, many were unable to perform basic functions like logging into their accounts on Instagram or posting comments. While Whatsapp messages seem to be unaffected at the moment, users are having intermittent issues with sending files across the popular messaging app.
We’re aware of an issue impacting people's access to Instagram right now. We know this is frustrating, and our team is hard at work to resolve this ASAP.

Yes, Twitter is still up and shining like a beacon of hope in these dark times.
