Earlier this week, OPPO has revealed that it will be launching a new phone (or sub-brand, depending on who you’ve asked) called Reno. As it turns out though, the phone is apparently ready for release in Malaysia based on its appearance on SIRIM’s database.
Registered by Jie Business Sdn. Bhd. which is the name that OPPO Malaysia is currently operating under, the device was represented on the database by its model name, CPH1917. The same name has previously appeared on IMDA Singapore’s database and over there, it was noted that this device’s marketing name is Reno.
Furthermore, the same model name has also appeared on the Bluetooth SIG database which contained even more information regarding the phone. Based on the listing, OPPO Reno will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor as well as a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display.
At the same time, the phone will also come with a dual camera system on its back that features a combination of 48MP and 5MP camera. The listing also stated that Reno will also carry a 16MP front camera.
That being said, there were rumors that Reno is actually a flagship-level product that will feature Snapdragon 855 processor instead. Additionally, it also might come with the triple camera setup that also includes the periscope 10x optical zoom camera which was announced at the recent Mobile World Congress.
Since Reno will only be officially revealed by OPPO on 10 April, expect more leaks and rumours regarding the phone to pop up as we get closer to the launch day.
