Realme’s has confirmed that its self-titled Realme 3 smartphone will, in fact, have two variants. Specifically, one variant will be fitted with a MediaTek Helio P70 SoC, while the other will use the lesser Helio P60 SoC.
According to Android Authority, the Android-centric tech site apparently received screenshots. Complete with model numbers and chipsets believed to be part of the unreleased Realme 3.
Realme responded, confirming that both specs sheets are in reference to two Realme 3 variants. Unfortunately, the brand failed to provide any further comments on the two variants or its runoured 48MP camera.
Additionally, it looks like the Realme 3 with the Helio P60 SoC (RMX1821) will be the variant to ship globally. While the variant with the Helio P70 SoC (RMX1825) is expected to only see release and circulation within India. Both chipsets are based on the same 12nm die lithography, but the Helio P70’s Cortex A73 cores are clocked at slightly higher speeds than the Helio P60. It is also worth noting that the screenshots also seem to have been captured in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
There’s still no official word as to when the Realme 3 will be launching, but rumours point towards an early announcement sometime in March.
