The folks behind current iterations of BlackBerry and Alcatel devices, TCL is apparently developing not one, but several foldable devices for global release. They come in the form of tablets, flip phones, and even a wrist phone.
The design of the foldable devices generally falls into two versions – one that folds inside and one that folds outside. The two tablet models will have both versions, with one looking like a book when folded in. The other model will have the screen on the outside so users can have the tablet in multiple modes.
The flip-phone devices also feature screens either on the inside or the outside. The wrist device, on the other hand, seems rather futuristic since it wraps around one’s hand. It somewhat looks like the Lenovo prototype, shown in 2016 though.
With multiple vendors working on foldable phones, 2019 will be a great year for smartphone design. However, there’s no official at the moment on when the TCL devices will be out or even shown as a preview.
