About a month ago Ubisoft announced that The Division 2 will not be on Steam. Despite this, it looks like the game’s PC pre-order sales are doing pretty well. Better, in fact, than the first game.
The company’s CEO Yves Guillemot said as much during the Q&A session of an earnings call. That said, it may not be an Epic Games Store versus Steam thing. While PC pre-orders in general for The Division 2 is higher than the first game, pre-orders on Uplay is reportedly six times higher.
But either way, it appears that fans of The Division series are not so particular about which launcher they run the game from. This is in stark contrast against the entire Metro Exodus saga that went on a couple of weeks ago.
Then again, assuming Ubisoft makes it like its other games, then the game will have to ultimately be run from Uplay, regardless of from which store the game was bought.
