Just like smartphones, leaks regarding upcoming graphics card are rather common especially as we get closer to their launch date. Currently making rounds online is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which apparently will be launched on 22 February according to the rumor circle and is expected to succeed the GeForce GTX 1060.
For the past few days, quite a number of significant leaks have made their way into the Internet. One of them is a set of real-life photos featuring GTX 1660 Ti from GALAX and also helped confirmed that the card will feature 6GB GDDR6 memory.
Prolific supplier of leaks, VideoCardz has also brought in four custom cards into the mix from Palit and EVGA. For the Palit GeForce GTX 1160 Ti StormX cards, the standard model apparently runs at 1770MHz while the OC version goes to 1815MHz.
As for EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti XC cards, VideoCardz somehow didn’t provide any details regarding the differences between the standard model and Black version though. That being said, EVGA is apparently planning to release more GTX 1660 Ti cards at later dates.
Said to be based on Turing architecture as per GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti cards, the GTX 1660 Ti will not come with ray tracing capability though. Hence, this is the reason why the card is positioned as part of the GTX series and likely to serve as an alternative to RTX 2060.
