It was only around a month ago that Foodpanda has reduced its delivery fee for all the cities that it covers within Malaysia. Now, the food delivery company has decided to bring down the fee even further in conjunction with Chinese New Year.
Naturally, the exact delivery depends on your locations. For folks in Klang Valley, Foodpanda now charges RM 1.88 instead of RM 3 while customers in Penang, Johor Bharu, and Kota Kinabalu, their Foodpanda’s delivery fee would be RM 0.88 as opposed to the standard RM 2.
For those who wonder why these delivery charges seemed to be quite specific, it was rather on purpose in relation to the Chinese New Year celebration. This is because the number 8 is deemed as a lucky number in Chinese culture and the number 88 symbolized “double happiness”, according to the Managing Director of Foodpanda Malaysia, Sayantan Das.
Do note that these Chinese New Year-themed delivery charges will only be applicable until 19 February. To learn more, head on to Foodpanda’s official website or its Android and iOS apps.
