With MWC 2019 just around the corner, it’s only natural that leaks, rumours, and additional information of mobile devices will start to rear their ugly heads. In the case of Sony Mobile, a purported specs sheet of its next flagship, the Xperia XZ4, seems to have made its way online.
The specs sheet was reportedly picked off either from the Chinese or Taiwanese edition of Sony Mobile’s official site. It’s unsurprising that the specs sheet shows that the Xperia XZ4 will be housing new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. What is actually interesting is the rest of the hardware that the phone will supposedly ship out with.
If the information is valid, then the Xperia XZ4 will be carrying 6GB RAM, 128GB of expandable storage (up to 512GB via microSDXC), and weigh in at 191g. Just several grams short of a regular cut of steak. It’s also got a massive 6.5-inch 21:9 QLED QHD+ display. Meaning that the phone’s display is going to be ridiculously longer than its predecessors.
Another key feature of the phone is the 4400mAh battery that is inside the Xperia XZ4. While phones with battery capacities larger than 4000mAh are slowly becoming more commonplace, this bit of information does sound a bit dubious. Especially when you consider the smaller size batteries used by the brand in the earlier Xperia XZ and Xperia XZ1 series.
As usual, Sony Mobile hasn’t made any official announcement about the Xperia XZ4, so do take this bit of news with a large grain of salt. However, as pointed out earlier, MWC 2019 is set to happen next month, and it seems that Sony will be holding a press event on 25 February 2019. We’ll know more about the phone then.
