As you might have heard, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) was hit by a massive system downtime since Saturday morning which affects its ATM machines, Cash Deposit Machines, MEPS services, MyBSN online banking, and Ejen Bank BSN services. A ray of light has finally appeared from the rubble at around 1000PM just now as the bank has announced that its ATM service is now operational once again.
According to the notice on its official Facebook page, BSN has now extended the operational hours for its ATM machines until 200AM tonight (22 January). The machines will then resume their normal working hours at 700AM tomorrow onwards.
Earlier today, BSN has activated manual withdrawal option for customers with salary accounts under the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia and pensioners although they are only able to bring out up to RM 500 per day. The same option has also been provided for students although their daily withdrawal limit is much lower at RM 200.
Since its ATM operation is already up, it is not known at the time being whether BSN will continue to offer the manual withdrawal option to these customers. Nevertheless, BSN customers out there might want to visit the nearest BSN’s ATM machine as soon as they can in order to have some peace of mind even though the bank has stated that all customers’ savings and deposits are safe and protected.
