UPDATE (21 Jan // 1105PM): BSN’s ATM machines are now operational. Read here for more details.
ORIGINAL STORY (20 Jan // 916PM):
It seems that customers of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) might have been facing a rather tough weekend as almost major services of the bank were unavailable to them for the past two days. The downtime was first acknowledged by the bank yesterday’s morning.
In a Facebook post on 19 January at 1105AM, BSN stated that the downtime involved its ATM machines, Cash Deposit Machines, MEPS services, MyBSN online banking, and Ejen Bank BSN services. However, the bank noted that customers can still utilize their BSN credit cards.
The bank then posted an additional notice on its Facebook page at 929PM as well as two more notices at 936AM and 1257PM today that stated the bank together with its vendor is still working to get their systems online again. BSN has also mentioned in its 1257PM notice that the repair effort is likely to last throughout the day.
However, BSN still has yet to reveal the cause behind the long breakdown or the exact time that customers can expect for the bank’s services to return to normal. All in all, there is nothing much BSN customers can do for the time being except hoping that the bank is able to fix whatever it is facing right now as soon as possible.
