The Apple Watch is in its fourth generation already. While there are a lot of people who like it, there are some who don’t. Among the latter is Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie, which has made a watch called the Swiss Alp Watch Concept Black.
Unlike the Apple Watch 4 that shows you a whole lot of information visually, the Swiss Alp Watch Concept Black shows you absolutely nothing. All you can actually see is the flying tourbillon mechanism.
So through what way does it tell the time? Odd by today’s standards, but it makes sounds to do that. It makes use of what’s called a minute repeater, which makes three distinct sounding rings when you toggle it. The first ring tells the hour, the second tells the quarter – or 15 minutes – and the final ring tells the minutes.
The Swiss Alp Watch Concept Black costs £274852 (~RM1.46 million), thanks to fancy parts like a platinum case and the intricate tourbillon. According to WIRED, the Swiss watchmaker not only managed to sell a unit but has also received requests to make more.
