This might have slipped our radar for quite some time, but it has just come to our knowledge that TM has stopped providing unifi TV set-top box (STB) to new customers. We not sure when the change took place but based on the latest January 2019’s FAQ document for unifi, it begins from this month onwards.
That doesn’t mean unifi TV is going away from unifi packages though. Even though customers are not provided with STB for their TV, unifi Basic 30MBps and unifi 100Mbps still come with unifi TV access with the difference being that the access is being provided solely through unifi playTV app.
According to the same FAQ document, the reason why TM has decided not to provide new customers with unifi TV STB is that most users nowadays prefer to consume contents on their smart devices. Despite that, customers still not able to completely offload the unifi TV packages from their subscriptions.
Aside from the unifi STB, we have also just noticed that TM no longer provide free DECT phone to unifi customers as well. For further details, head on to unifi’s official website and check out the FAQ document right here.
