At long last, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ in Malaysia is finally getting the Android Pie update to their devices, along with the brand’s One UI. The update is approximately 1.8GB in size, and brings with it the latest security updates (dated 1 January 2019), along with the usual fare of patches and updates to Samsung specific features.
The update will be done via OTA. As always, if you happen own either of the two phones, and you still haven’t gotten the update, don’t fret or panic. It’s likely that the update is being rolled out in batches, meaning that your device will likely receive the update a little later.
However, if you would like to attempt to speed up the process, you can manually try and update it by following these steps: Settings > Software Update > Download. Once you’ve updated your Galaxy S9 or S9+, Samsung says it should feature a whole new look and feel that will “help you stay focused on the task at hand.”

Both models will also get a scene optimiser; a feature that was first introduced on the Galaxy Note9. Additional new features to the phones include a lift to wake mode, a new and improved Bixby, as well as a night new Night Mode.
