If you enjoy military-style video games then chances are you’re excited for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. But while Ubisoft’s games are traditionally available on Steam as well as its own Uplay launcher, The Division 2 will apparently be giving Steam a pass.
Instead, the game will be available on the Epic Games Store instead. At the time of writing, the Division 2 can co longer be found on Steam.
Its availability on Uplay will remain unaffected. Eurogamer reports that in fact, prior to 9 January, it was only possible to pre-order The Division 2 from Uplay. Now, you can also do so from the Epic Games Store.
Regarding this decision, Chris Early of Ubisoft said “Epic continues to disrupt the video game industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support.”
The Division 2 is scheduled for release in 15 March 2019.
