We just slightly over a week into 2019 but quite a number of smartphone companies have begun to release new phones into our market. Among the latest in the list is HMD Global who has announced that the Nokia 8.1 will be heading to Malaysia later this month.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, the new Nokia 8.1 was first released in China as the Nokia X7 before making its global debut last month. Also featuring a 6.18-inch FullHD+ screen with PureDisplay technology that provides it with HDR10 support, the Malaysian variant of the phone comes standard with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Photography-wise, the Nokia 8.1 features a 1/.55-inch 1.4um 12MP sensor on its back that is also equipped with optical image stabilization and ZEISS optics alongside another 13MP sensor. For selfies, the phone relies on a 20MP sensor that is housed within the phone’s display notch to deliver the job.
Pre-installed with Android 9 Pie, consumers can expect to have straight forward, pure Android experience as well as security guarantee by Google due to the fact that the Nokia 8.1 is an Android One device. Not to forget, the phone also comes with a 3500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging
As for its availability in Malaysia, the Nokia 8.1 will be heading to retailers in Malaysia on 18 January with a price tag of RM 1699. Customers already able to pre-order the device through these Authorized Nokia Retailers in which they will also receive a gift pack worth RM 188.
