Kingmax has officially announced the KE31, the brand’s newest portable SSD designed for the traveling professional. Like most portable SSDs, the KE31 comes with above average transfer speeds, and a lightweight form factor to boot.
Specifically, the KE31 has sequential read and write speeds of 400MB/s and 390MB/s, respectively. It may use a slightly older USB 3.1 Gen1 interface, but it’s definitely still faster than a standard portable hard drive.
In regards to storage, the KE31 is available in three capacities; 240GB, 480GB, and 960GB. All variants have a MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) of 1.2 million hours, and weigh only 35g. On top of that, the storage device can also be used as an external storage for gaming consoles, such as the PS4 and Xbox One. Allowing gamers to stow unplayed titles and freeing up the much needed space for other games on the console.
All KE31 models come with a three year warranty. At the time of writing, local pricing for the portable SSD had yet to be announced.
