True to its promise, Xiaomi today has officially launched another new phone in the form of Mi Play. Some might expect it to be the first Xiaomi phone to feature the 48MP camera that the company has teased before but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
Instead, the Mi Play is generally a lower mid-range device that is powered by MediaTek Helio P35. Equipped with a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display, the new phone also carries 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Other attractions of the phone include the dual 12MP rear camera alongside an 8MP selfie camera that is contained within the phone’s teardrop-shaped notch on its display. Going with a micro-USB port instead of USB Type-C, the Mi Play also comes with a 3000mAh battery that supports 5V2A charging.
Price-wise, the new Mi Play goes for CNY 1099 (about RM 667) and will be available for sale later this week. No words on whether it will be released into Malaysia anytime soon unlike the Mi Mix 3 which will be released over here this coming January.
