The Verge has reported that some of this year’s iPad Pros are shipping with a minor bend on their aluminum body. According to Apple, this is is a side effect of the manufacturing process and it shouldn’t affect the devices’ performance, or get worse.
This came about after users of the new iPad Pros said their tablets develop small bends without any overt abuse. Some of them think the bend is caused by their daily use, while some insist that their iPads came out of the box already bent with the LTE versions are also said to have more pronounced bends.
Noticing that your iPad Pro is bent with no obvious cause will definitely raise some concerns. And considering a previous bend test video, concerns are bound to be magnified.
It’s still strange that Apple would say that their product coming out of the box bent is a part of the production process. We also hesitate to say that it’s fine as long as it doesn’t affect its function, even if Apple itself says so.
