The last time we heard the Apple AirPods was getting some minor improvements was back in February. While it didn’t actually happen, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects that it will now be during the first quarter of next year, with one of the new features being wireless charging support.
The 2019 AirPods will also feature upgrades to Bluetooth connectivity, possibly meaning that it will come with support for Bluetooth 5.0.
In addition to the one coming out in 2019, Kuo thinks that one model with a new design is also bound for 2020. Just like the 2019 model, there’s no exact date to look out for when it comes to the 2020 AirPods beyond “before the end of 2020.”
Despite mentioning wireless charging for the for the 2019 AirPods, AppleInsider reports indicate that he omitted mention of Apple’s AirPower mat, something that was first mentioned in 2017.
