Last week, rendered concept images of what could be Sony’s Xperia XZ4 smartphone and the possibility having an in-display fingerprint scanner and 5G connectivity cropped up online. This week, new CAD-based concept renders – courtesy of MySmartPrice and leakster @OnLeaks – have made their way online.
According to the renders, both sources are suggesting that the Xperia XZ4 will be Sony’s first premium smartphone to sport a triple-camera main array. Instead of the initial dual-camera array from previous reports.
There’s no concrete hardware specifications of the phone at this point, but it’s possible that Sony could move on from the already archaic 19MP Motion Eye sensor. With two of the cameras quite possibly comprising a 24MP and 16MP sensor.
Beyond that, speculation of the Xperia XZ4’s remaining hardware remains the same. The phone is expected to feature a larger 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with same 21: 9 aspect ratio as the Xperia XZ3, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 SoC, and a USB Type-C port.
Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia XZ4 next year, either during MWC 2019 or during IFA 2019. Until then, and as these rumours usually go, we advise you to take these renders with a grain of salt until an official announcement has been made.
