Four months after it was first unveiled to the world in Computex, ASUS ROG Phone has finally launched in Malaysia. While ASUS has been making smartphones for quite some time mainly under the ZenFone series, this is the company’s first foray into the gaming phone market which is a rising segment as of late.
Given its purpose and target market, it is not surprising that ASUS has equipped ROG Phone with flagship-level hardware. Featuring a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED 90Hz display with support for HDR, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 that is individually selected for the best possible peak performance at 2.96GHz as opposed to 2.8GHz on a standard Snapdragon 845.
Aside from that, it also comes with 8GB of RAM alongside storage options of 128GB and 512GB. In terms of photography, the ROG Phone depends on a set of 12MP and 8MP cameras on its rear together with another 8MP camera on the front part of the phone.
Completing the ROG Phone’s standard specification is a 4000mAh battery which supports up to 30W QuickCharge 4.0 tech. To help cool the phone during a gaming session, it is accompanied by a detachable fan called AeroActive Cooler which utilized the custom connector on the side of ROG Phone.
To be available in Malaysia starting from this November, the new ASUS ROG Phone is now available for pre-order at RM 3499 for the 128GB variant. The 512GB model on another hand can be obtained for RM 3999.
