Just when you thought Capcom was overdoing it for Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Japan-exclusive special edition typewriter, the Japanese games company one-ups itself with the upcoming Devil May Cry 5. The new special edition bonus, also found on the Japanese Capcom online store, is dubbed ‘Ultra Limited Edition’ and comes with one of the three protagonists’ jackets.
The most expensive one costs JPY 900000 (~RM33283). For that kind of money, you get Dante’s leather trench coat. We’re pretty sure you can get leather trench coats elsewhere for cheaper, but what you’re paying for here primarily is the attention to detail. There are signs of wear and tear throughout, as if it was the jacket worn by the demon hunter himself.
Still, this makes it almost 10 times more expensive than the Resident Evil 2 reboot special edition typewriter keyboard.
There are other more affordable options, for what it’s worth. There’s one that comes with Nero’s jacket instead, which is priced at JPY750000 (~RM27735). There’s also the option to have the right sleeve torn just like Nero’s. And finally, you can have the sleeveless jacket of newcomer V for JPY600000 (~RM22195).
If all that sounds a tad excessive, then there’s the regular Limited Edition that comes with a ‘Classic Work Shirt’. Even then, this still costs JPY11852 (~RM438).
Like the Resident Evil 2 keyboard, there’s no telling yet if any of these will be available outside of Japan. On the other hand, unlike the keyboard it doesn’t look like there’s an option to buy just the jacket of your choice. That said, you can buy the shirt for JPY7222 (~RM267).
