Rumours about AMD refreshing its Polaris GPU architecture are starting to get real. The latest rumour now points at ASUS actually working on a Radeon RX 590 graphics card. Funnily enough, it also seems that the card will be flying under the ROG Strix line, instead of ASUS’ Radeon-dedicated AREZ branding.
The rumour stems from a source close to Videocardz, the same source who reportedly gave the site information about ASUS’ AREZ brand. Long before it even went live. As these rumours often go, there’s not a lot information to go on with the card.
That said, a 3DMark listing of a “Generic VGA” card was found on the benchmark’s page. Showing off slightly higher clockspeeds than the current Radeon RX 580 graphics card. Pay close attention to the image, though, and you’ll notice that the “Radeon RX 590 Series” name is listed near the bottom of the page.
Of course, nothing has been set in stone, and AMD has yet to make an official announcement of its graphics card. Until then, do take this news with a healthy dose of skepticism.
