Alongside the availability of the newly launched Mate 20 series in Malaysia, Huawei has also revealed further details regarding the imminent arrival of MateBook X Pro and MateBook D in our market. As you might know, the MateBook X Pro was originally launched back at MWC 2018 while the MateBook D was introduced at the end of 2017.
In Malaysia, the Intel Core i5-8250U version of MateBook X Pro will be available for RM 4999 and the Core i7-8550U variant can be obtained for RM 6999. The Core i5 model also carries 8GB of RAM and 256GB solid state drive while the Core i7 model is equipped with 16GB RAM and 512GB solid state drive.
On another hand, the MateBook D will be released in Malaysia for RM 2999. Equipped with 14-inch Full HD IPS display, this model is powered by Intel Core i5-8250U processors and carries 8GB of RAM as well as 256GB solid state drive.
For now, we can confirm to you that Huawei will only bring in Intel Core-based MateBook D 14 into Malaysia although the company will consider bringing in the AMD Ryzen version if there’s demand in the market.
Customers will also receive free Huawei Bluetooth Mouse and Backpack when they purchased these laptops. For MateBook X Pro, Huawei will also include a leather case for it. Not only that, pre-order customers will also receive 1-year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Home.
While the actual roll out in our market will take place on 27 October, the pre-order for Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D will take place from 19 to 22 October. Meanwhile, don’t forget to check out our initial hands-on experience with MateBook X Pro right here.
