Microsoft Office has a dictation feature that can be very useful, especially if you suffer from dyslexia. But more than that, the company is finally bringing the feature to web users as well.
The feature will come to the browser version of Word and OneNote first, within the “coming weeks”. As for Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, dictation will come sometime in 2019.
In addition to dictation, Microsoft is also adding real-time translation inside Immersive Reader. This will roll out in sometime in this quarter, supporting the translation of full pages, words or sentences. That said, this feature will only be available to Word, OneNote and Outlook online, as well as OneNote for Windows 10, Mac and iPad.
With this, typing with your voice will not only be limited to the desktop versions of Microsoft Office. Translation is also a powerful tool, and this will be especially true in a country with multiple languages such as Malaysia.
