It looks like there’s a chance that EA will be remastering classic Command and Conquer games, according to a reddit post by EA Producer Jim Vessella. According to sources, the post also says that we can look forward to a few of these come 2020, which is the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
On the reddit post, Vessella says, “Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command and Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for 20 years, I couldn’t agree more. With that in mind we’ve been exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary.”
While a remaster doesn’t compare to a completely new entry into the franchise, at the very least we get to see the C&C name return to the PC. Vessella’s own statement says enough about what people think about the mobile game, Command and Conquer: Rivals.
That said, the post did end on a brighter note. Vessella also said “We are eager to hear your feedback to help influence our current thoughts for PC and what comes next.” There may be no time better than now to share your wishes for a C&C game on PC on the reddit post, and other official EA channels.
