Well it looks like the rumors on TIME’s new fiber broadband pricing, which have been swirling the past week are proven to be true. We have obtained a leaked screenshot of the packages, along with comparisons of plans with both Maxis and UniFi ahead of the official launch tomorrow.
While both the 100Mbps and 500Mbps packages are running on a symmetrical connection, the 1Gbps package seems to be asymmetrical with uploads speeds only reaching 500Mbps. Whether this is due to hardware limitations, or otherwise will only be revealed tomorrow.
Current TIME Internet users have quietly been getting their speed upgrades in batches over the last two weeks. We are expecting an official announcement with regards to current customers tomorrow as well.Update: The plans are now official, as revealed on TIME’s official site. All three packages come with either 12 or 24 months contract, with a RM500 fee for early termination. There is also a RM300 upfront payment should you opt for the 12 month contract. If you sign up online, via TIME’s online sign-up form, you will be entitled to a RM100 discount which will be credited back into your first bill across all three packages.
The RM99/100Mbps plan is an online exclusive offer, so you will need to sign up online at time.com.my to enjoy the rate. All other package prices are available through TIME authorized distributors and agents.
For current subscribers, we can confirm that 100Mbps subscribers have now been upgraded to the 500Mbps package at RM139, down from RM149, while 300Mbps and 500Mbps subscribers have been upgraded to the 1Gbps plan with no contract extensions.
TIME’s high speed internet connection, inclusive of their new 1Gbps package is now available at over 600,000 premises across the country.
