After a long while, Microsoft has finally upgraded the specs on its Surface Studio line-up. As you might be able to recall, the all-in-one PC which is mainly designed for content creators and professionals was originally launched back in 2016.
Featuring 50% more graphics performance, the 2018 Surface Studio 2 achieved this with the help of the new graphics hardware for it which customers can choose from either the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or GeForce GTX 1070 8GB. Microsoft has also upgraded the processor on the new model but the choice made by the company is rather odd.
Instead of the much newer 8th Gen Intel Core processor, Microsoft has equipped the Surface Studio 2 with the older 7th Gen Intel Core processor. Not only that, there is no Core i5 option provided for the model as well since Surface Studio 2 comes with only one processor option which is the Intel Core i7-7820HQ.
Microsoft has also omitted the 8GB RAM option for Surface Studio 2 as it now starts at 16GB. The company has also chosen to ditch the Rapid Hybrid Drive in favor of full solid state drive options for Surface Studio 2.

As opposed to the newly announced Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2, Surface Studio 2 does come with USB Type-C port. Then again, the rest of Surface Studio 2 is still similar to its two years old predecessor.
While its availability in Malaysia is still not yet known for the time being, the new AIO is now open for pre-order in the United States with a starting price tag of USD 3499 (about RM 14488).
