While the processor is only expected to be made official later this month, there is plenty of information regarding Intel’s next high-end desktop processor already out in the open. Now, even its packaging has somehow made an early appearance on Amazon US.
Instead of the traditional square box, this time around it seemed that Intel has decided to provide the new chip which is rumored to be called Core i9-9900K with a much fancier packaging. In fact, the company might have been inspired by their main rival AMD which has upped the ante for processor packaging through the release of its Ryzen Threadripper processors.
Based on reports regarding the listing on Amazon, the Core i9-9900K packaging comes in the form of a multi-sided translucent box. We can’t really tell for sure but judging from the image, there is another box in the middle of the packaging which might be holding the chip.
Aside from the box, the listing also reveals the price tag of the chip which is said to be USD 582.50 (about RM 2413). Given its position as a high-end processor with 8-cores and 16-threads configurations, we not exactly surprised of the listed price but then again, we will still keep a look for the official confirmation from Intel. So, stay tuned.
