ASRock released a short video clip on its official YouTube channel, teasing viewers with several nuances pertaining to its Phantom Gaming sub-brand. While it was initially perceived to be a hint at a possible new graphics card, the video was, surprisingly, hinting at the brand’s supposed new line of motherboards.
The hint lies in the “2.5x fast” title, which appears both at the beginning and at the end of the teaser video. In this case, the 2.5 is making reference to the motherboards having an integrated 2.5 Gigabit LAN port. This new LAN standard would truly give ASRock’s Phantom Gaming motherboards an edge over the competition. Considering the fact that currently available enthusiast motherboards are only equipped with 1 Gigabit LAN ports, at best.
Motherboards under the Phantom Gaming line will encapsulate all of Intel’s Z390 motherboard chipsets. Instead of just being exclusive towards AMD’s AM4 chipset. For context; the Phantom Gaming line is a replacement to ASRock’s previous Fatal1ty gaming line. Additionally, it was also the platform for ASRock to launch its Radeon-power graphics card.
