It has been a while since we heard about a new laptop from Huawei in our market but that about to change very soon as the company has confirmed that it will be releasing a brand new MateBook in Malaysia. While Huawei didn’t specifically mention the exact name of the MateBook inside its media alert, it is rather clear from the teaser image that we are looking at the MateBook X Pro.
Originally launched at MWC 2018, the laptop has been spotted on SIRIM’s database back in June. Hence, it is about time for MateBook X Pro to finally be made available in our market.
One of the key features for the new laptop is its 13.9-inch LTPS touch display which also has a native resolution of 3000 x 2000 alongside 91% screen-to-body ratio, pixel density of 260 PPI, sRGB 100% color gamut, and a maximum brightness rating of 450nits. At the same time, the MateBook X Pro is also powered by up to 8th Gen Intel Core 8550U processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 2GB with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM.
In terms of system memory, the laptop can be obtained with up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB NVMe-based solid state drive. Together with the support for Dolby Atmos, the MateBook X Pro is also equipped with a 57.4WH battery that apparently able to deliver up to 12 hours of video playback.
In its media alert, Huawei didn’t provide any details regarding the availability and pricing of MateBook X Pro in Malaysia. We’ll keep posted once we heard more from the company. Meanwhile, you can check out our initial experience with the laptop right here.
