After the global launch event, the Nikon Z7 and Z6 mirrorless cameras are now officially available in Malaysia. For starters, the Nikon Z7 will be available locally first, from an eye-watering price of RM14,688.
The Z7 features a 45.7MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with built-in 5-axis stabilization. It also has a 9fps burst mode and comes with 493 phase-detect autofocus (PDAF) points. Nikon created a new mount for the Z-series, called appropriately the Z mount which features a short flange distance that allows the company to deliver high-quality lenses without the bulk.
Other features of the camera include 4K video or output a 10-bit 4:2:2 video stream over HDMI thanks to the new EXPEED 6 image-processing engine. At the back, there is a 3.2-inch, 2.1 million dot tiltable touchscreen LCD display. The Z7 is made with magnesium alloy and environmentally sealed, meaning that the camera can survive the rugged outdoors to some extent. There is also Bluetooth and WiFi for image management.
Price-wise, the body-only price for the Nikon Z7 is RM14,688. There is also a kit-lens package available, which includes the new NIKKOR Z 24-70mm F/4.0 lens and priced at RM17,858. For those who want to physically test out the camera, you can do at the Nikon Experience Hub Kuala Lumpur at Federal Arcade which is located in front of Plaza Low Yat.
