Alongside the Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi has also announced the Mi 8 Lite. It is the more affordable option of the three Mi 8 devices, and even more differences in the specs sheet.
To start, the Mi 8 Lite comes with a marginally larger 6.26-inch display, with a resolution of 2240 x 1080; just a tad lower than the standard Mi 8. The battery is also just that slightly smaller at 3350mAh.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. In terms of cameras, there’s a 12MP + 5MP setup at the back, and a 24MP unit up front. The Mi 8 Lite also uses a more conventional fingerprint scanner, located at the back of the phone.
The colours of the Mi 8 Lite is a lot more interesting, with the two options being a Blue/Purple gradient, and a Yellow/Orange gradient.
With there being more RAM and storage options, there are also more prices for the Mi 8 Lite. The 4GB/64GB option is priced at RMB1400 (~RM846), the 6GB/64GB one will go for RMB1700 (~RM1027), and the 6GB/128GB model comes with a RMB2000 (~RM1029) price tag. They ship starting 25 September, but as before, there’s no mention of local availability.
