It looks like the Honor 8X will finally be making its way to our shores if this recent teaser image by Honor Malaysia is anything to go by. The image, which shows the Petronas Twin Towers, showcases what is effectively an outline of a smartphone and number that clearly refers to the phone’s screen-to-body ratio.
Another hint that the teaser refers to the Honor 8X are the words “Xtraordinary” and “Coming Soon” written at the top. The “X” is clearly highlighted and a direct reference to the alphabet in the phone’s moniker.
First launched in China earlier this month, the Honor 8X comes in two variations. This includes a normal version of the phone, as well as the larger Honor 8X Max. In terms of hardware, the Honor 8X will feature a 6.5-inch notched display, a Kirin 710 SoC with up to 6GB RAM. Along with 128GB of expandable storage. Camera-wise, the phone sports a dual 20MP + 2MP main camera, and a single 16MP front-facing camera. Powering it all is a 3750mAh battery.
The Honor 8X Max will have naturally have a bigger 7.12-inch notched display, but instead of a Kirin SoC, the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It’s dual camera array uses 16MP + 2MP sensors, while the front-facing camera is a simply 8MP sensor. It also comes has a bigger 5000mAh battery.
