Remember when we said there are special offers for those who sign up for the Nintendo Switch Online service? Here’s one of the first ones: the right to buy wireless NES controllers for US$60 (~RM250).
At a glance, they are the classic controllers for the NES, given the wireless treatment. It also charges using the Switch display, much like the Joy-Cons do. That said, they’re not Joy-Cons, and will probably not work properly on games that require the analogue sticks of the Joy-Cons. They do come in packs of two, so you don’t have to worry about your Switch looking asymmetrical.
#NintendoSwitchOnline will feel even more authentic by using the new wireless NES style controllers with the classic #NES games, available for purchase exclusively for paid Nintendo Switch Online members!

On the flip side, they look and feel authentic, so if you’re willing to shell out that kind of money for the illusion of playing the classic Nintendo Entertainment System, then perhaps this is for you. In fact, this is probably a purchase you won’t regret if you’ve gotten yourselves the NES Classic.
But, if you’re thinking that RM250 is a lot for what is quite blatantly nostalgia bait, you’re not alone. If you follow the sting of tweets following the one above, you’ll see plenty of others with the same opinion. They too are sharing more affordable alternatives, provided you know where to get them.
Also, knowing Nintendo, stocks are likely to be limited. For what it’s worth though, each Nintendo account is limited to only a pair of these NES controllers.
