2018 is still far from over but nevertheless, Sony Mobile today has launched the Xperia XZ3 which is the successor to Xperia XZ2 that the company has just launched at MWC a mere six months ago. Hence, it is not surprising that the company has brought some of the features on Xperia XZ2 to its successor.
Among them are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. At the same time, the Xperia XZ3 which retains the curved glass design from Xperia XZ2 also still carries the 19MP Motion Eye rear camera that was present on its predecessor.
However, the new model still has several features to offer over its predecessor. For example, the Xperia XZ3 not only comes with a larger 6-inch HDR display but it also has higher resolution at Quad HD+ and features an OLED panel.
Not to forget, Xperia XZ3 front camera is consisted of a 13MP Exmor RS sensor as compared to the 5MP unit inside Xperia XZ2. Other than that, the Xperia XZ3 is also equipped with a slightly larger battery at 3330mAh.
Aside from new components, Xperia XZ3 also features a number of new user experiences that are powered by AI to the table. One of them is called Smart Launch which would automatically launch the phone’s camera app when it is hold in landscape mode.
There is also another AI-powered feature called Side Sense that predicts what apps users want to use next in a menu that can be accessed just by tapping on either side of the Xperia XZ3.
Said to be one of the first device to come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie, the Sony Xperia XZ3 will be rolled out into the market starting from end of September onwards. Its official price was not revealed during Sony’s IFA 2018 press conference earlier today but we got the word that the phone will costs GBP 699 (about RM 3739) in UK which is rather hefty.
