Google is in the process of revamping the interface of its Wear OS for platform for for smartwatches. The revamp is expected to allow users to access information and notifications easier.
According to its blog post, the revamp will focus on allowing Wear OS users to be more proactive, and also to integrate Google Assistant functionality into the operating system. In practice, the revamped Wear OS would give users the ability to check details such as flight details and hotel check reservations with just a swipe of the finger. On top of that, you also get the same day-to-day functionality that comes with Google Assistant (i.e. weather, delay in your commute, meetings, etc.).
The revamped Wear OS will also be integrating the recently announced Google Fit. The app is designed with the intention of making the idea of staying healthy easier. To that end, the app condenses the fitness focus down to two new activity goals, Heart Points and Move Minutes.
Google is expected to roll out the revamped features to Wear OS device starting next month. So if you’ve got a smartwatch running on Wear OS, just keep a look out for the update.
